The Reward of the Process
When I initially set out to run for state delegate in the 45th Legislative District, I did not quite realize the fulfilling reward of the journey to get there. While, I understood the importance of establishing a strong campaign team, canvassing neighborhoods and fundraising as necessary components to running a successful campaign, I had not considered the significance of the process.
Now, after more than two months of canvassing neighborhoods and speaking with various constituents, I am humbled by the mere possibility of representing the Baltimore City residents of the 45th Legislative District in Annapolis. Each step has been so rewarding thus far and I look forward to continuing onward to victory with you by my side because this campaign is so much larger than me. This is a grassroots movement of concerned residents ready for “A Leader Who Listens” to their needs and represents their interests in the Maryland General Assembly.
Each week, Team McCray works harder than the week before, gaining traction and building momentum. For the past few weeks, we have not left canvassing to only Saturdays, rather we have hit the streets each day of the week, knocking on doors and listening to constituents. This week alone, we knocked on more than 500 doors within the Glenham Belhar, Waltherson, and Gardenville communities.
While it is nice to stop by residents’ homes, it has been very rewarding to interact with constituents during Saturday festivals and weekday evening block parties, like the Belair-Edison “Youth Fun Day” this past Saturday, as well as the “National Night Out” events on Tuesday at Lake Montebello and Herring Run Park. Each of these events affords me the opportunity to connect with 45th Legislative District constituents in different realm.
So far, it has been a true pleasure to meet so many people as I crisscross the district. I would like to continue this energy throughout the duration of the campaign and following, but I need your support in order to do so. Therefore, if you have some free time tomorrow, please come join me as the “Listening Tour” stops in the Arcadia and Beverly Hills communities.
If not, please continue to spread the word about Team McCray by forwarding these weekly e-mails to your family and friends, sharing the campaign website with neighbors, and inviting everyone you know to “Like” the Facebook page.
We are doing so well, please help us continue on this path to victory. Team McCray is counting on YOU!
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Cory V. McCray

Thanks to You, We are Destined for Greatness!
Week after week, we have such great news to share and it’s all a result of your support. It is evident that you are telling your family, friends and neighbors about Cory McCray, and sharing the reasons why you support this man of integrity. So, I want to say “Thank You” on behalf of Cory and Team McCray for playing a vital role in moving this campaign forward.
This past Saturday, joined by Prince George’s County Young Democrats President Larry Stafford, Team McCray focused on the Waltherson and Gardenville communities. As fate would have it, the first door Cory knocked on was that of a fellow electrician. After making a significant contribution to the campaign, this McCray supporter requested the largest sign be placed in his yard at a very prominent corner in the Waltherson community.
Destined for greatness, Cory received another contribution while knocking on doors alongside six volunteers. This time from a longtime business owner, who lives and runs a business within the 45th Legislative District and is committed to seeing Team McCray to victory.
After knocking on approximately 150 doors, Team McCray headed to the Berea community to attend the BEST Democratic Club’s second annual “Get Out the Vote” Day, hosted by the residents of the 1400-block of Potomac Street. During this event, Cory had an opportunity to speak with several state and local elected officials, including Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown, Comptroller Peter Franchot, Senator Brian Frosh, Delegate Jon Cardin, as well as Baltimore City State’s Attorney Gregg Bernstein and Baltimore City Council President Bernard “Jack” Young.
To end a long, yet rewarding day, Cory and Team McCray traveled to the Lauraville-Hamilton Street Festival, where many supportive neighbors welcomed them.
While this past Saturday was a total success, we really need your support to keep this up. So, please continue to do your part to spread the word about Cory and Team McCray by forwarding these weekly e-mails to your family and friends, sharing the campaign website with neighbors, and inviting everyone you know to “Like” the Facebook page. If you have some free time on Saturday, please come hit the streets with us, as we knock on doors, listen to constituents and share why we support Cory McCray for delegate.

Over 1,000 Facebook “Likes”; Can You Believe It?
Can you believe it? The “Elect Cory McCray” Facebook page has a following of more than 1,000 supporters! Having just launched the page less than two months ago, we are extremely excited that so many people have our backs and support this movement.
This great news is evidence that the past eight weeks of commitment and hard work has not gone unnoticed. Team McCray dedicates eight hours each Saturday to hear from residents of the 45th Legislative District during the “Listening Tour.” This past weekend, six volunteers canvassed the Waltherson, Glenham-Belhar and Beverly Hills communities.
As this grassroots campaign continues to build, Team McCray wants to keep you in the loop. In doing so, we have added two new features to the “Elect Cory McCray” website, www.electcorymccray.com. The first addition is a video page, which allows people who are interested in learning more about Cory to hear testimonials from supporters throughout the 45th Legislative District and beyond.
Additionally, Team McCray added a blog page, where weekly updates and messages from the candidate can be found.

We Broke a Record; Please Help Us to Continue
Team McCray is approaching our second month of the campaign and things are looking great because of your support. Thank You!
By establishing relationships and broadening our supporter base, last Saturday’s segment of Team McCray’s “Listening Tour” was the most successful yet. We broke our record for volunteer participation, having had 15 volunteers join us, which allowed us to knock on more than 300 doors in the East Rosemont and Glenham-Belhar communities. Click here to view photos.
Check out photos of Team McCray at Bocek Park for the “Day of Hope”
Among Saturday’s team of volunteers was first-time canvasser Tyquan Henson, who recently graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and plans to attend Allegany College in the Fall. In the middle of the summer, at the age of 18, there are so many things this Frankford community resident could chose to do. However, he not only walked the streets with Team McCray this past Saturday, he has already committed to participate in additional canvassing excursions throughout the duration of the campaign.
Tyquan wants to make a difference in his community, and I know you do too. So, join us this Saturday, July 20th, as we knock on doors in the Waltherson community and listen to residents.
While we are happy to report a successful week of canvassing, please continue to do your part to spread the word about Cory’s campaign for delegate by forwarding these weekly e-mails, sharing the website, www.electcorymccray.com, and inviting everyone you know to “Like” the Facebook page.

We want to continue to break our records for volunteer participation, knock on more doors and engage more constituents, but we need your help. As Helen Keller stated, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

The Power is Within the Community
I hope everyone was able to enjoy the holiday weekend as much as Team McCray did.
For the 6th week of our “Listening Tour,” we had 12 volunteers join us as we knocked on approximately 200 doors in the Rosemont and Glenham-Belhar communities this past Saturday. Click here to view photos.
While listening to neighbors on Walther Avenue, Cory met a female resident and her six-year-old daughter. After a very extensive conversation about education, the 45th Legislative District mother expressed her commitment to support Cory and made a significant contribution to the campaign.
Without having to pull out the grill, offer an incentive or attempt a firework presentation, Team McCray was able to pull together a group of volunteers who were supercharged and ready to share information about Cory McCray this past holiday weekend. The team, which included a volunteer who traveled from Prince George’s County, was so enthusiastic that they continued canvassing the neighborhoods and spreading the word about the campaign for an additional two hours.
However, Saturday’s volunteers and the Walther Avenue resident weren’t the only ones to make their support known recently. Maryland Juice blogger David Moon published a post discussing the campaigns for which he has made contributions so far and the reasons why he supports these candidates. Of course, Cory McCray was one of two candidates named. To read the blog post in full, please go to http://www.marylandjuice.com/2013/07/q-who-did-maryland-juice-blogger-david.html.
If you feel inspired and would like to join Team McCray as a volunteer this upcoming Saturday, please contact 443-520-2611 or info@electcorymccray.com.
As we continue to lay the foundation over the next few months, please do your part to spread the word about Cory’s campaign for delegate by sharing the website, www.electcorymccray.com, and inviting everyone you know to “Like” the Facebook page.

Happy Independence Day!
Happy Independence Day! As you prepare to celebrate this fun holiday with family and friends by attending parades, cookouts and firework presentations, I thought I would extend my sincere appreciation for your support in my efforts to represent the 45th Legislative District in the Maryland General Assembly.
I officially launched my campaign for delegate with the “Listening Tour” just a month ago, alongside family, close friends and early supporters, in the North Harford and Arcadia communities. Every Saturday since then, Team McCray has canvassed neighborhoods within the 45th Legislative District, knocking on more than 1,000 doors to hear from concerned constituents.
Now, five weeks into the campaign, Team McCray has gained substantial headway, exceeding every expectation. While we are extremely excited that our hard work has been fruitful, we plan to use this foundation as motivation to continue to grow this grassroots campaign over the next year.
Last Thursday, several of my closest friends and colleagues hosted the first major fundraiser in support of my campaign for delegate at Clementine in Hamilton. Hosted by Baltimore City Councilmember Brandon Scott, Anthony Jones, Stuart Katzenberg, John Bullock and Shannon Sneed, the well-attended fundraiser was a great way to conclude the first month of the campaign.
Additionally, the campaign continues to gain momentum as early supporters host small “Meet and Greet” events, where I am able to connect with community members in a small setting, listen to their concerns and share my vision for the 45th Legislative District. So far, it has been a true pleasure to meet so many people as I crisscross the district. I would like to continue this energy throughout the next year, but I need you in order to do so.
Please continue to spread the word about my campaign for delegate by sharing the website, www.electcorymccray.com. While you’re on the Internet, “Like” the Facebook page and encourage others to do the same.
We are doing so well, please help us continue on this path to victory. Team McCray is counting on YOU!

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop! Cory McCray for Delegate
In just a couple of minutes, a few Baltimore trailblazers, including Baltimore City 12th District Councilman Brandon Scott, will come together to host Cory’s first major fundraiser. While fundraising is an important aspect of every campaign, Team McCray’s focus has been and will remain on listening to his neighbors and hearing their thoughts and concerns about the direction of the 45th Legislative District.
Each Saturday this month, Team McCray has walked the streets, knocked on hundreds of doors and listened to neighbors. Gaining a pulse and accessing the needs of the individuals, businesses and communities within the 45th Legislative District is Cory’s main objective over the next year. After all, how can he effectively represent the district without understanding the constituency he serves?
This past Saturday, while out listening to his neighbors with his wife and daughters, Cory met a retired gentleman in the Glenmount community who had concerns about resources for seniors. As Cory listened, this neighbor expressed confidence in having a strong, young and vibrant leader to advocate on his behalf in Annapolis. Interactions like this fuel Cory’s drive to continue his listening tour throughout the 45th Legislative District.
To view photos of Team McCray knocking on doors and listening to constituents, please click here.
As we prepare for the fundraiser this evening, Team McCray needs you to spread the word about Cory McCray for Delegate. Please tell your neighbors how Cory has helped you and your family, impacted your community and volunteered at your children’s school. Then, share the website, “Like” the Facebook page and encourage others to do the same.

We Are Making A Difference
Week 3 has been pretty exciting for #teammccray, this week we spent a large amount of time in Westfield and Hamilton Hills communities canvassing and getting to know the neighborhood. With the redistricting plan ready to take place, all of the folks that we canvassed this past Saturday will be joining the 45th Legislative District. Most people expressed their concerns and issues, were excited that #teammccray knocked on their door, and showed a great deal of interest in hearing about the newly redistricted precincts. While knocking on doors we were able to meet past community presidents Julie Lin and Jason Sullivan of Hamilton Hills, current Hamilton Hills officer Joe Stolkovich, and many of their neighbors.
After the 1st Shift #teammccray decided to take a break and head to the Oliver Community’s Fun Day. It was great to see 45th District families enjoy the day with neighbors and friends. It was so much fun that one of the residents dared Cory McCray to show off his Hula Hooping skills, check out the picture here.
These past three weeks #teammccray has been actively campaigning have been amazing. We have heard neighbors state that they are excited that someone is here to listen to their concerns, get a good grasp on the issues, and have the energy to knock on their door and ask them personally for their vote. Check out some all of the pictures from week 3 here
Last, Cory was able to enjoy father’s day with his wife, and two little girls Kennedy (6) and Reagan (4). The Baltimore Afro Newspaper circulated an article “Fathers and Sons Opine About Dads’ Day” written by Zachary Lester where Cory was quoted about “How much father’s day meant to him”
“When my little girls, Kennedy and Reagan, entered this world, the true meaning of life was defined for me. My decision-making became centered around protecting and ensuring a better future for my children and all children of Baltimore City. “– Cory McCray
We hope that you can join the movement and like our Facebook Page, follow us on twitter @electcorymccray and, finally, sign up for our You Tube Page, where every week we highlight a community member that endorses our campaign.
Also feel free to make a donation of $4.50 to ensure our path to victory in the 45th Legislative District. Your contribution ensures that we have literature for the campaign, t-shirts for volunteers, and gives us the ability to communicate our message and passion for our community.

It’s Never Too Early, Get on Board Now!
Team McCray has been gaining momentum over the past couple of weeks. In addition to canvassing neighborhoods in the 45th Legislative District, Team McCray has held three small “Meet and Greet” fundraising events, two in Baltimore and one in Silver Spring.
To view photos of these events, as well as of Team McCray knocking on doors and listening to constituents, please click here.
Campaign Manager Terrell Boston-Smith hosted Cory’s first fundraiser at Spirits of Mount Vernon on June 3rd, which set the tone for victory by exceeding the monetary goal. Next, on June 9th, David Kunes and Jonathan Shurberg of Montgomery County brought together approximately 50 friends to host the second fundraiser in Silver Spring, where Senator Roger Manno of District 19 officially endorsed McCray for Delegate.
Earlier this week, Field Team Manager Jermaine Jones welcomed several of his neighbors from the Oliver community into his home for Cory’s most recent “Meet and Greet” event. Check out the photos from these events here.
